WHAT IS A.P.Y.M.E.?WHY DO WE NEED IT?

A.P.Y.M.E. is a non-profit making organizationwhich was started by a group of businessmen in Almuñecar who recognized the need for and the importance of an association to unite all the businesses in the various sectors and activities – with the objective of finding out both their specific problems, and those common to all, and to work together to find solutions for them.

Our Statutes state that our clear objective is to represent, defend and promote the economic, social and cultural interests of our associates, promoting and creating common services to help them, to organize the necessary actions to achieve social and economic improvements, to organize a continuous programme of information and cultural promotion and to elaborate plans to promote the locality.

In the first phase we have legally constituted the Association, with the corresponding legally required officials, opened a headquarters where we develope our activities and organized the administration of the various groups, depending of its type of activity, which are currently Commerce, Hotel and Catering , Metal and Services.Each one of these sectors is representated by a spokesman for that sector, who is aware of its specific problems and communicates them periodicallyto the Spkesmans’ Committee and together, we assess and decide the most adequate solutions. At the same time,as and when businessmen from other sectors join A.P.Y.M.E., we propose to form new groups within the association (Construction, Transport etc.)

The Association participates in the business life of Almuñecar, and is completely “up to date”, as it receives the Oficial Bulletins of the Province (Boletines Oficiales de la Provincia), the Junta de Andalucia and the State. At the same time, it is in continuous contact with public bodies (Town Hall, Tax Office, CEMAN, A.M.A., the Chamber of Commerce, etc.) and in this way the Directive Comittee of the Association writes and sends out to its members two informaation sheets which deal with the following subjects – taxation, employment, administration, commercial, economic and financial.In this way, we achieve one of the prime objectives of the association – that the businessman is regularly informed of the changes in legislation in this country.
